Army Commander Hands Over House To KRI Nanggala Crew Heirs 402
SIDOARJO - TNI (Army) Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto symbolically handed over 53 housing units to the heirs of the KRI Nanggala 402 submarine crew in Sidoarjo, East Java.
KRI Nanggala 402 was declared missing when it was about to conduct a missile test in the Bali Sea on April 21, 2021. The submarine was found on April 25, 2021, and 53 of its crew were declared dead in the line of duty.
The TNI Commander said the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in collaboration with the Navy V Main Base had built special housing for the heirs of the KRI Nanggala-402 crew in the Candi area, Sidoarjo Regency.
"It is intended for the heroes of KRI Nanggala 402 who died (while) carrying out their duties", he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 11.
According to Marshal Hadi, 53 houses for the heirs of the KRI Nanggala 402 crew were built on an area of about two hectares starting August 23, 2021, and targeted for completion in December 2021.
"The housing that I have just inaugurated is the housing for Nanggala 402 soldiers and their families and children. It is targeted that by December all 53 housing units have been completed", he said.

"There are no problems with correspondence, both house and land certificates. Hopefully, this housing can be useful for their children, to achieve high goals", continued the TNI Commander.
Wini, the wife of Posthumous First Admiral Harry Setiawan, expressed her gratitude for the gift of a house for the heirs of the KRI Nanggala 402 crew.
"We would like to thank Mr. Jokowi, the Commander, KSAL (Chief of Staff of the Navy), and related agencies for the provision of this residence", he said.
