Regarding The Ducati Cargo Box That Was Illegally Dismantled At The Mandalika Circuit, The Police: There Was No Security Disturbance There, Only Miscommunication

JAKARTA - The incident of unloading a cargo crate containing a Ducati Panigale V4R motorcycle riding by Michael Ruben Rinaldi by an individual suspected of being the organizing committee of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) has attracted the attention of security officials.

The NTB Regional Police Chief Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal in Mataram, Thursday, said that his party had responded to the incident by further enhancing security coordination with the organizing committee responsible for the racing area and circuit.

"We have asked MGPA and Dorna Sports to verify it", said Iqbal as quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 11.

From information from the organizing committee, Iqbal said that no items were lost from the action of unloading the cargo crate containing the motorcycle racer Aruba.it Racing-Ducati number 21.

"So actually there was no security disturbance activity there. Only miscommunication. Dorna and MGPA are coordinating. It's clear", he said.

However, Iqbal regretted that the incident could have occurred in one of the riders' paddocks in the circuit area which incidentally was beyond the control of the authorities. In fact, 58 Brimob personnel from the West Nusa Tenggara Police have been on full alert in the third layer of security, starting a month ago.

"That's why we also remind that other than those with an interest, no one should open (cargo crates)", he said.

However, the NTB Police, which is the "leading sector" of security, used the incident as an evaluation material to further improve fieldwork, including coordination with the organizing committee responsible for security in the first and second layers (racing areas and circuits).

"We have paid attention, so whoever enters, must have their permission (the organizing committee) first", he asserted.

The incident of unloading the cargo crate was revealed after it went viral on social media through the distribution of a 26-second video showing the action of a person in a white shirt allegedly from the organizing committee of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), who opened the cover or cover of Rinaldi's racing vehicle, which had won the championship title. European Superstock 1000 Championship 2017.

Later, the Godokan racing vehicle of Aruba.it team will appear with Rinaldi in the final World Superbike (WSBK) 2021 series at the Mandalika International Street Circuit, on November 19-21.
