Socializing DBON In Jakarta, Sesmenpora: Important For Sports Guidance And Development

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) continues to socialize Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 86 of 2021 concerning the Great Design of National Sports (DBON) and this time for the DKI Jakarta area because it is one of the provinces included in the national sports development center.

Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Sesmenpora) Jonni Mardizal in Jakarta, Wednesday, said the basic consideration for the issuance of this DBON was the need for an integrated and collaborative long-term national sports coaching and development policy direction to increase the nation's competitiveness in the sports sector.

"This DBON is published on a historic day for sportspeople, namely Haornas 2021. This design is the result of joint discussions between the central government, regional governments, professors, practitioners, and sports stakeholders," said Jonni, as quoted by Antara, Thursday.

Jonni emphasized that DBON is a master plan document that contains the direction of national sports coaching and development policies that are carried out effectively, efficiently, superior, measurable, systematic, accountable, and sustainable in the scope of sports education, recreational sports, sports achievements, and the sports industry.

"So we hope that in 2045 our community will be active in sports and create a fit community. And we are targeting the Olympics and Paralympics in the future we can be in the top five," Jonni added.

Jonni is optimistic that the target in the DBON can be achieved, provided that all relevant parties can work together. In addition, it is also carried out consistently. Promoting a sports-based national economy is also included in this design target.

"The grand design of this national sport also includes 14 leading Olympic sports based on achievements and medal chances. As for the Paralympics, there are 5 sports," said Jonni.

"Well, for the determination of this superior sport, of course it has gone through the stages of study and consideration. Of course, along the way, there are evaluations such as relegation and promotion. With this, we hope that our sport can continue to excel,” he added.

Present at the socialization were echelon I and II ranks within the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Head of the Jakarta Youth and Sports Service Achmad Firdaus, Chancellor of the Jakarta State University Prof. Komarudin, and sports stakeholders.
