Wanting To Strengthen The Role And Function Of LADI, Musthofa Fauzi Proposes Change Of Organization Name To NADO
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Anti-Doping Institute (LADI) Musthofa Fauzi proposed changing the name of the organization he leads to the Indonesian National Anti-Doping Organization (NADO).
The proposal is not related to the effort to lift WADA's World Anti-Doping Agency sanctions, but rather to strengthen and emphasize the role and function of LADI as NADO in Indonesia.
It is planned that this change will also be included in the Revision of the National Sports System Law No. 3 of 2005, which is currently being finalized in the Indonesian House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, regarding efforts to relieve sanctions, Musthofa said that LADI is currently still collecting doping samples in order to meet the compliance requirements set by WADA.
"Currently LADI is focusing on conducting ICT (doping tests during competition) at Peparnas with a total of 200 doping samples that we can complete within the next week," said Musthofa in an official statement from the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI).
The Chairperson of the KOI who is also the Chair of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Settlement of WADA Sanctions Raja Sapta Oktohari said that his party and the team had set a work timeline that LADI had to complete in order to speed up the lifting of sanctions.
“We have conveyed that there are three challenges that must be resolved, namely communication, administration, and technicality. As far as communication is concerned, things are running smoothly, we just need to speed up the rest, which we hope can be completed by LADI at least as soon as possible," said Okto.
Regarding administration, under the direction of WADA and SEARADO Regional Anti-Doping Organization SEARADO, LADI was asked to work independently, without intervention, and requested that its organizational structure be filled with full-time professionals.
