Focus On Doping Tests At Peparnas, LADI Strives Again To Get Compliance Status From WADA

JAKARTA - The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)'s Task Force for the Acceleration of Sanction Settlement targets the Indonesian Anti-Doping Agency (LADI) to fulfill the doping test (TDP) plan in December this year in order to speed up the sanctions relief process.

The fulfillment of the doping test is one of 24 pending matters that must be resolved by LADI so that WADA sanctions can be immediately lifted.

The Chairman of the Task Force who is also the Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) Raja Sapta Oktohari stated that his party and the team had even prepared a work timeline to help LADI regain compliance status, one of which was related to the realization of the TDP.

Okto, Raja Sapta's nickname, said that the realization of the TDP that must be met by LADI includes tests during and outside competitions. In addition, other challenges that must be resolved, namely regarding administration.

"For administrative-related structures, LADI can finish in the next one to two weeks. As for technical matters, the in-competition testing deadline is next week when Peparnas is finished. Meanwhile, the out-of-competition can be completed in the first week of December," Oktohari said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday.

Responding to this, the Head of LADI Musthofa Fauzi is optimistic that the realization of the TDP will be completed according to the established timeline. Currently, LADI has also been supervised by the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA) as recommended by WADA.

“Currently LADI is focusing on conducting ICT in Peparnas with a total of 200 doping samples which we can complete within the next one week. This doping sampling report is also directly supervised by JADA whose process is monitored at ADAMS (WADA testing reporting system). We are chasing everything on time,” said Musthofa.

Not only that, but LADI is also required by WADA to work independently, without intervention, and be filled by full-time professionals in order to have a compliant status.

The virtual meeting which was chaired directly by Okto in Jakarta, Tuesday, was also attended by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) represented by Experts from Menpora Zainudin Amali, Gatot S Dewa Broto, LADI Chair Musthofa Fauzi, and members of the task force, including Deputy LADI Chair Rheza Maulana, Secretary-General of LADI Dessy Rosmelita, Secretary-General of KOI Ferry J Kono, two representatives of sports, namely Bambang Roedyanto (PBSI) and Del Asri (PABSI).
