Flash Floods Hit Residents' Houses In Gintung Hamlet, Batu City

CITY OF BATU - Flash floods hit Batu City, East Java. The disaster caused 3 houses in Gintung Hamlet, Bulukerto Village to be the most severely affected. Currently, two residents in one of the houses are trapped in the rubble of the house.

Until now, the Batu City Regional Disaster Management Agency together with volunteers are trying to save a resident named Fery (30). He was trapped with his two-year-old son.

The victim is known to be trapped in mud from the flash flood. The condition of the two is unknown.

Agus Budiono, a resident, said that another house belonging to Nakrib (70) was swept away by the flood. The house is right next to Fery's house.

“Suddenly, a big flood came along with fallen trees that hit people's houses. One house was swept away”, he said, Thursday, November 4.

In addition, flash floods caused the bridge connecting Gintung Hamlet and Buludendeng Hamlet in Bulukerto Village to break completely.

"This is the first time this has happened. All of us residents also thought it would rain normally, but it turned out to be like this”, he said.
