Police Arrest Herd Of Robbers And Rapists Of Students At Makassar Boarding House

MAKASSAR - The Makassar Police Crime and Violence Team arrested a group of robbers who often raped their victims. Most rape victims are college students.

Kasat Reskrim Polrestabes Makassar, Kompol Agus Khaerul said, the series of reports of robberies accompanied by rape of the victims made the police work hard to uncover them.

"There have been several reports of robberies being accompanied by rape. Some of the locations where CCTV cameras were installed were the beginning of the disclosure of this case," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 7.

He said that the latest report that came to the Manggala Police on May 29 was immediately investigated by the Makassar Polrestabes Jatanras Team.

The results of the investigation at the scene and the examination of witnesses, members then received instructions and were able to arrest the four perpetrators.

After the characteristics and whereabouts of the perpetrators were known, officers immediately chased them to Galesong, Takalar Regency, and arrested the main perpetrator with the initials MR alias Caco.

"After examining witnesses and analyzing the results of the CCTV footage, clues were obtained about the characteristics of the perpetrators and members moved quickly to the Galesong area in Takalar Regency and arrested MR," he said.

After arresting MR, the police developed the case and arrested three other perpetrators, namely male AS (27), male FA (27) and male YU (35) who had a role in collecting stolen goods and then selling them.

From the results of the interrogation, the four perpetrators had stolen by force in 11 different locations with the same mode, targeting boarding houses, especially those inhabited by girls.

"The four actors have their respective roles, the US man looks for the location, draws the location and after that keeps the situation or situation outside. Next, the main male actor MR alias Caco enters the boarding house and carries out his actions," he said

For this action, the suspects will be charged with Article 365, Article 368 of the Criminal Code and then alleged rape with a penalty of nine years in prison.

There is also evidence of stolen goods confiscated at several crime scenes, mostly electronic goods in the form of smartphones including sharp weapons used by the perpetrators to threaten their victims.
