GAZA - The world condemns the attitude of Israel which continues to confine Gaza from outside world aid. For the second time this week, Israeli authorities prevented humanitarian aid from entering northern Gaza.

This was revealed by the Commissioner General of the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini.

Today the Israeli Authority has again banned entry to UNRWA convoys that carry much-needed food supplies to the northern region, where its citizens are on the verge of starvation, Lazzarini said on platform X.

"Last time UNRWA sent food aid to the northern region almost two months ago," he said.

"I've said many times: this is hunger from people's actions and hunger disasters that can still be avoided," he said.

Launching Antara, Lazzarini stressed that Israel's authorities must allow large-scale shipments of food aid to the northern region, including through UNRWA, Gaza's largest humanitarian organization.

"Meanwhile, children will continue to die from malnutrition and dehydration under our supervision," said Lazzarini, asserting that "very heavy things can't be normal".

Israel launched a deadly military strike on the Gaza Strip since the cross-border Palestinian resistance group Hamas on October 7 that killed about 1,200 Israelis.

More than 32,100 Palestinians, mostly women and children, were killed in Gaza and more than 74,400 others injured.

The attack also caused mass destruction, evacuation, and a basic necessities crisis.

Israel is accused of committing genocide in a lawsuit filed with the International Court (ICJ).

ICJ's provisional decision in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocide and take action to ensure humanitarian aid reaches civilians in Gaza.
