JAKARTA - Bandai Namco Entertainment launched Sword Art Online Variant Showdown, a new mobile game celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Sword Art Online series.
The game will be released globally in 2022 for iOS and Android devices. In addition, the company released a new teaser trailer for the game featuring characters like Kirito, Asuna, and Sinon.

The official website details the basic premise of the game. Kirito learns of a new game called Cross Edge, which was created by a high school genius. He then hears a mysterious hooded figure attacking people and causing players to lose some of their memories.
After remembering Laughing Coffin, Kirito and his friends decided to start playing Cross Edge to investigate.
