The Enthusiasm Of The Racing Community In Ancol Is High, In Two Days 200 People Have Registered

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya said that the enthusiasm of the public with street races to facilitate illegal racing was quite high. Because, only two days after registration was opened, the number of participants had reached 200 people.

"Registration has been open since 2 days ago and now more than 200 people have registered," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Thursday, January 13.

Registration to become a participant has been done online at loket.com since January 11.

In fact, the enthusiasm of the community to participate has no effect on the application of the registration fee. Because, to register as a participant is required to pay an administration fee of Rp. 100 thousand.

"There is a fee of Rp. 100,000, but it includes components of the entrance ticket to the location area, the motorbike, including life insurance," said Sambodo.

Later, the street race will be held on January 16 at 09.00 WIB until the afternoon. However, it is also possible that it will be implemented at night.

"But for their activities, we organize training at night," said Sambodo. The Directorate of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya is ready to hold a street racing practice with the "street race" community in Ancol, North Jakarta, Sunday, January 16.

"The concept is to practice with the community, so we don't prepare gifts," said Sambodo.

The plan for the joint practice is to use a "drag race" format with a 500-meter track and 300 meters for braking.

Sambodo said the target of this activity was to form a forum for street racers to race in controlled situations with increased safety aspects.

"The main goal is that we strive so that events like this can eliminate and minimize the implementation of illegal racing on the road. We will accommodate them in one place by increasing the safety factor," he said.
