JAKARTA The General Election Commission officially declared the pair Anies Baswedan Muhaimin Iskandar, Prabowo Subianto Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Ganjar Pranowo Mahfud MD as participants in the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres). Anies Muhaimin received serial number 1, Prabowo Gibran number 2 and Ganjar Mahfud received serial number 3.

The three pairs have also launched a vision and mission if the results of the February 14, 2024 presidential election place them as winners. The Ganjar Mahfud pair promoted by the PDI-P coalition, PPP, Perindo and the Hanura Party have a 'Towards Indonesia Superior' vision with eight missions referred to as Eights of the Ganjar & Mahfud' Fast Movement.

Three important points of this mission are a superior competitive economy, food sovereignty and Indonesia the center of the sharia economy and the halal industry.4. Accelerating equitable distribution of economic development with two points namely fair and equitable development and happiness and prosperity.5. Accelerating the development of a national digital system, includes two important points namely great digital infrastructure and reliable digital human resources, as well as a digital competitive Ecosystem.6. Ganjar Mahfud's Economic Growth Must Touch The Real Sector

TPN Executive Secretary Ganjar-Mahfud, Heru Dewanto explained that Ganjar Mahfud wants to bring Indonesia forward and superior from other countries. What we mean by Indonesia to excel is in a competitive sense, more than other countries. Not just advancing, but relatively superior to other countries," he said, Saturday, November 18.

According to him, the vision was translated into eight fast motion missions consisting of 114 programs. This fast move is associated with Indonesia's remaining 13 years in utilizing demographic bonuses for the progress of the nation. Therefore, there is no other choice but to move quickly so that it can take advantage of the opportunities that come in just one time in the life cycle of the nation and state.

Heru also explained that the Ganjar pair Mahfud considered that superior humans could move the economy in Indonesia. This is because the economy that wants to be built is an economy based on added value with equitable economic growth in Indonesia.

"The target for economic growth from Ganjar Mahfud is seven percent per year. In addition, this pair also wants to create 17 million new jobs," he added.

Economic observer from the Indonesia Strategic and Economic Action Institution, Ronny Sasmita assessed that the target of 17 million jobs for the absorption of the new workforce every year and reducing the number of unemployed to reach the optimal employment rate that Ganjar Mahfud said seems ambitious.

According to him, the target is closely related to the level of economic growth which is also targeted at seven percent. Therefore, if the economic growth target cannot be achieved, then the figure of 17 million new jobs will also be difficult to realize.

"This means that the target of 17 million new jobs launched can be achieved if economic growth also reaches seven percent per year," said Ronny, Monday, November 20.

He also stated that the challenge for the Ganjar Mahfud pair not only realized the economic growth rate of seven percent per year, but also ensured that the economic growth was also of high quality, such as more occurrence in the real sector than in the financial sector.

"If the growth is less quality, for example, it occurs more in the financial sector than in the real sector, it is unlikely that the general public can feel it," said Ronny.

Economic Growth Of 7 Percent Needs Big Investment

In addition, the main factor that will affect the success of the mission to create jobs is the quality of the available job opportunities. If the available job opportunities are of low quality, quality human resources will also be difficult to absorb.

Therefore, said Ronny, an integrated approach is needed, which includes economic growth, human resource development, and job quality to achieve this goal successfully.

Senior economist Chatib Basri assesses that economic growth of seven percent is targeted by Ganjar Mahfud, although it is not impossible, but has a big challenge in realizing it.

He explained, to realize economic growth by one percent, the state requires an investment ratio to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 6.8 percent. "On the other hand, investment must be financed by savings, where state savings are only 36 percent of GDP," said Chatib, Monday, November 20.

The former Minister of Finance calculates that if the economic growth target is seven percent, it will require 47.6 percent of GDP investment.

"47.6 minus 36 (our savings) then there is still an 11 percent deficit of GDP that must be of concern to Ganjar Mahfud. Where do you want to find funds? The solution is only debt, foreign investment, or increasing tax ratio. Actually, if you look at economic growth in the era of President Joko Widodo by five percent per year, maybe a realistic target at 5.5 to 6.5 percent per year," concluded Chatib Basri.
