Linda Yaccarino Explains How X Overcomes Disinformation Regarding The Hamas And Israel Wars

JAKARTA - European Commission official Thierry Breton gave a warning letter to X a few days ago regarding the issue of disinformation related to the Hamas and Israel wars. Today, Xlinda CEO Yaccarino replied to the letter.

Through a letter shared with the public, Yaccarino said that X continues to work quickly to overcome this disinformation problem. He stressed that the X platform strongly opposes terrorist movements or groups of extremism on its platform.

Every day, X always deletes accounts related to real-time bad efforts. In addition to taking concrete action by deleting disinformation uploads, X also labels tens of thousands of content through Community Records.

"To avoid doubt (EU and the public), we strictly adhere to policies regarding illegal content and we continue to remove illegal content, including terrorist content on our platform," Yaccarino wrote in its official release.

Yaccarino stated that their actions had been carried out since the news of the Hamas attack was first heard. To date, X has removed hundreds of Hamas-affiliated accounts.

X clearly prohibits various violent and hate entities, perpetrators of violent attacks, violent speech, various sensitive content, and manipulated content. This rule clearly prohibits all X users from inciting or glorifying acts of violence.

In addition, in overcoming sensitive content around the Hamas and Israel wars, X limits its users from uploading content containing blood, violence, sexual assault, and a number of other bad content.

X also asks users for help in reporting uploads, profiles, and messages that violate the X rules. Their report will be handled in accordance with the Service Provisions. Therefore, all X users can report various actions that violate the Digital Service Act (DSA) in the European Union (EU).

"X continues to cooperate with law enforcement authorities. So far, we have responded to more than 80 removal requests received at EU within a specified period of time in a careful and objective manner," Yacarino explained.

Through this letter, Yaccarino said that X would continue to take all reports seriously. X is pleased to receive details of the data provided by the European Commission regarding the investigation of illegal content and overall disinformation.
