JAKARTA - Google announced that it has expanded access to SGE at Search Labs for more people, in particular, teenagers aged 13-17 in the United States (US).
So, starting this week, teens aged 13-17 years in the US who log into Google Accounts will be able to sign up for Search Lab to access certain Lab experiences via the Google or desktop Chrome app.
"This includes access to SGE, which can help people find information more quickly and naturally and explore the topics of interest, as well as SGE when browsing web pages," Google wrote in its announcement.
According to him, Generative AI can help young people ask questions that usually can't be answered by search engines and ask further questions to help them dig deeper.
SGE in search and SGE while browsing can be activated or disabled from the Google Search Labs homepage whenever they want.

Not to forget, Google realizes that mixing AI technology and younger users can cause controversy. Therefore, Google guarantees the safety of teenagers.
"SGE quality protection is designed to prevent the emergence of inappropriate or harmful content. For example, we have implemented stricter limits on products related to illegal or age-limited, or repression, and other issues," Google explained.
Furthermore, the search giant has also created an information literacy feature or an AI Literacy Guide to help people evaluate the reliability of information and sources they find online.
