JAKARTA - As a guide for various comprehensive digital transformation initiatives in Indonesia, the Ministry of Communication and Information has compiled a Roadmap for Indonesia Digital.

The document will be accompanied by a central document, namely Vision Indonesia Digital (VID) 2045. In order to realize the vision, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics applies affirmative steps.

"With VID 2045, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics together with relevant stakeholders, including APJII, have carried out various affirmative policies to overcome the challenges of digital transformation in Indonesia," said Kominfo Minister Budi Arie Setiadi at the APJII National Working Meeting in his official broadcast, quoted Wednesday, September 27.

Budi explained that several affirmative policies that have now been taken include accelerating infrastructure in all regions in Indonesia, strengthening digital literacy for all Indonesian people, and increasing collaboration with related ministries and institutions.

"We are also preparing the National Digital Transformation Index (TDN) which is an index to measure the progress of digital transformation of an area," added Budi.

The Minister of Communication and Information is also aware that currently in Indonesia there are still many issues related to data protection. Not to mention, disinformation and the spread of internet content that violates statutory regulations.

"In tantamount to that, we believe that the agenda for accelerating digital transformation needs to be supported by an ideal digital ecosystem. We also consistently implement the termination of access and takedown of negative content," he said.

Not to forget, Budi invited the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) to support the acceleration of the national digital transformation agenda, as well as to answer the existing implementation challenges.

"Starting from mapping the ideal needs of the Internet bandwidth in Indonesia, the right choice of technology, affirmation of local industry players, to the planning milestones," he explained.

Through the involvement of APJII, it is certain that the development and utilization of telecommunications infrastructure can answer the needs of the community.
