Mythic Protocol Achieves Initial Funding Of IDR 99.9 Billion To Build The World's First Collaborative Entertainment Ecosystem

The Mythic Protocol has officially announced oversubscribed seed series funding of US$6.5 million, led by Shima Capital and Alpha JWC.

With this funding, the Mythic Protocol will build the world's first Collaborative Entertainment ecosystem that utilizes blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, video games, and creative media.

"With the founding team having published more than 250 game titles since 2009 and becoming one of the largest game developers in Southeast Asia, we believe that they can achieve success in the game development cycle going forward," said Yida Gao, Founder and General Managing Partner of Shima Capital in a statement received by VOI on Monday, September 18.

This funding will be channeled for the development and launch of core products in the form of collaborative RPG action-shooters coupled to the cross-platform roguelite progress system (PC, console & gadget) entitled RIFTSTORM.

CEO Arief Widhiyasa said that every 25 years, the video game industry experiences a technological cycle. Starting with a fun focus on the game. Followed by the internet and gadgets, the second cycle focuses on accelerating the adoption of video games to crowded audiences - by creating a free-to-play business model.

"I believe that the next cycle will come soon, this cycle will be driven by distributed computing (blockchain) and artificial intelligence (AI); where the new problem that must be solved is collective participation to generate value in an ecosystem, namely Collaborative Entertainment," he added.

Furthermore, the Mythic Protocol targets to launch its game on the global market, especially the United States next year.
