Apple Supports California Legislature To Pass "The Rights Law To Improve"

JAKARTA - On Tuesday, August 22, Apple Inc., urged California legislative members to pass "the right to correct" or "Senate Bill 244" according to the current draft, in a letter.

The law requires manufacturers to allow customers to repair damaged devices.

The iPhone maker's move is a reversal of its stance over the years opposing access to improvements, as the law will require electronics manufacturers to provide tools to repair faulty devices.

"We support 'SB 244' because this law includes requirements that protect the safety and security of individual users as well as the intellectual property of product manufacturers," Apple said in the letter.
