Encourage Gender Equality In Esports, UniPin Holds GameHers Event

JAKARTA - It is undeniable that esports and gaming are industries dominated by men. To support gender equality, especially in the field of esports, UniPin cooperates with Samsung Odyssey and Circle Luna Nera in holding an event titled GameHers at NARA Senopati, South Jakarta.

At this event, UniPin, Samsung Odyssey, and Luna Nera invited women who are active in the esports industry for sharing and connecting sessions, celebrating their presence as women in esports.

GameHers itself is an initiative to break boundaries and create a safe space for women to gather and plan activities that have a major influence on all women in the industry.

"This is a preliminary movement before other activities, where we will gather all female and community gamers to share, exchange ideas, and collaborate in producing an impactful work," said SVP UniPin Global Esports & Community, Debora Imanuella in a statement.

Debora also explained that she and UniPin and Luna Nera fully support women's esports emancipation activities, one of which is through GameHers.

On the other hand, Veronica Huang from TikTok Live Indonesia is also enthusiastic about responding to this event which aims to get female gamers to support each other, not just in-game, but in many other ways.

"I feel that the gaming scene really needs a female figure. Responding to that, this year, TikTok is more committed to supporting women in gaming scenes, one of which is by making hashtags that are used globally, namely #WomenInGaming," he said.

Present at this event were Debora Imanuella as the founder of Luna Nera and SVP UniPin Global Esports & Community, Ivan Adiwibowo as Product Manager of PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia, as well as influential female figures in the digital world in other Indonesia.
