Officially Canceled, Just Cause Mobile Game Disappears From All Digital Stores

JAKARTA - Square Enix has confirmed the cancellation of the development of the Just Cause Mobile game. This caused the game development to be stopped, and the access version has initially been withdrawn from digital stores since July 3.

"With great sadness, we announce the end of the development of Just Cause Mobile," said Anne-Lou Grosbois-Favreau, global brand leader of Square Enix at the Just Cause franchise, quoted by VGC.

So, starting on July 3, 2023 yesterday, if you search for Just Cause Mobile games in digital stores, you won't find them in search results.

"Submitting an announcement like this is never easy, especially to fans who have been waiting for the release of this game. We really appreciate the support you have given," added Anne.

The game was originally announced at The Game Awards 2020. At the time, Square Enix revealed that Just Cause Mobile would be a free top-down action shooter game with single-player and multiplayer modes.

Square Enix's flagship franchise was supposed to be released in 2021, but was delayed, and was later scheduled for this year. Unfortunately, the studio decided to stop developing the game.

Square Enix also confirmed that all currencies in the game, such as Blue Diamonds, which were purchased with real money at the early access stage, had been returned to the player's Google Play account.

"Please note that the Blue Diamond purchased during Regional Early Access has been fully returned to your Google Play Account on February 24, 2023," he added.
