Elon Musk Reveals Twitter Video App For Smart TV Coming Soon

A Twitter video application for smart TV is being planned by the social media company, the owner Elon Musk said in a tweet on Saturday, June 17. This step is in line with the company's new plan to focus on developing video content on the platform.

Summarizing replies to tweets implying the need for a Twitter video application, Musk replied, "It's under development".

Twitter's new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, and Musk have described Twitter's plans in a presentation to investors on Thursday, June 15, aiming to focus on videos, creator partners, and commercial partnerships to revive the social media company's business outside of digital advertising. The presentation to the investors has been reviewed by Reuters.

One of the presentation slides shows that vertical videos account for more than 10% of the time users spend on Twitter.

Earlier this month, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson launched a new show on the platform entitled "Tucker on Twitter." Twitter hopes to sell ads and sponsorship along with videos from Carlson and other content creators, as revealed by sources familiar with the matter to Reuters.
