JAKARTA - Apple will bring major changes to the iPhone interface via iOS 17, which can turn the device into a smart display screen to display all the information.

Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, who first reported on the change, said the new interface would appear when the iPhone runs iOS 17 in a landscape (horizontal) orientation and is locked.

The new interface will feature calendar appointments, weather information, and notifications in a new style reminiscent of independent smart displays.

The goal is to make iPhone useful, such as the Google Nest Hub smart screen or Amazon Echo smart screen when the phone is placed on the user's desk or on health.

In addition, there will be a dark background with bright text to make it easy to read when this feature is activated. Apple is also said to be working on a new horizontal interface for the iPad, but it's unclear when that will happen.

This is because the company has recently been slow in bringing the new iPhone feature to its tablet. Moreover, Apple seems to be still developing cheap tablets that can attach magnetically to walls and sit.

Launching GSM Arena, Thursday, May 25, the Wallet application will also get some significant changes in iOS 17, and there will also be improvements in location services, as well as new turnover applications designed to add stronger records and social elements to devices.

Lastly, Gurman said Apple had discussions with hotels to allow guests with Apple devices to send videos and audio to the devices offered to hotel guests.

Gurman estimates that Apple will reveal the preview of iOS 17 at WWDC 2023 which starts in 12 days. A strong leak also mentions Apple's AR / VR mixed reality headset will be introduced after years.
