Tyson Fury Vs Oleksandr Duel Canceled December 23, But...

JAKARTA - World boxing lovers seem to have to be patient longer to be able to watch the heavyweight world boxing fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

In fact, the two of them will duel in the ring on December 23. However, promoter Frank Warren stated, the fight was canceled on schedule.

Warren said Fury's duel with Usyk would still happen. However, the fight is likely to happen next year.

The promoter indicated Fury would take a long break after his fight with former UFC champion Francis, Ngannou, last weekend.

"It's too early to talk about what Tyson will do right now but the fight with Usyk has been signed," Warren said, quoted by The Sun.

"It will continue but not on 23 (December). It's crazy for someone to think the fight will continue on December 23".

"He (Fury) is 35 years old and has only been doing training for 12 weeks and has just been in a tough battle. He needs to rest with his family," he continued.

Warren said his party would announce the date of the fight with Usyk when everything was ready. He reiterated that the fight was bound to happen.

"It will happen at the start of the new year, no later than January or February. It will depend on Tyson, that's his body," Warren said.

Usyk responded to Warren's statement. The Ukrainian boxer still wants his duel with Fury to happen on schedule, namely December 23.

"Uncle Frank said some interesting things. We have a contract that states the fight must be held on December 23," Usyk said, quoted by Boxing King Media.

"Let Fury leave his title first, then he can rest. Tyson, we have to fight, we have to do that, December 23. See you in the ring," he added.
