SURABAYA - A series of decorations in the form of tubers to banners with the theme of the U-17 World Cup began to be neatly installed at several points in the city of Surabaya, East Java.

Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi in Surabaya, Sunday, said that in welcoming the U-17 World Cup which will be held on November 10, 2023, the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) has prepared various things, in addition to public and banners, there are also knick-knacks such as merchandise and so on.

"God willing, next week it will be even more lively, there will be crowds with their knick-knacks related to the U-17 World Cup," said Mayor Eri.

Not only felt on protocol roads, the lively U-17 World Cup will also feel the excitement of the shopping center in Surabaya City.

"Starting next week, maybe around October 28, they will make their own with the U-17 World Cup theme. Also on videotrons and the way into the city of Surabaya," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Control of Biological Diversity Pollution and Management, Surabaya City Environment Agency (DLH), Myrna Augusta Aditya Dewi said the U-17 World Cup decorations had been installed since last Wednesday. One of them is decorations in front of the City Hall Building and Youth Hall.

Myrna said that the decoration installation was to welcome the U-17 World Cup which will be held on November 10, 2023. As the host of the U-17 World Cup, the City of Surabaya also promoted through these decorations.

"Because this is an international event, on various sides, the echo must come out later. So it's not only in the stadium that will be used, but also in government centers to protocol roads and crowd centers," said Myrna.

In addition to decorations, he said, there will also be 3D mascots that will be installed in several iconic places and some are used for processions. However, currently DLH will still coordinate with the Surabaya City Culture, Youth and Sports Office (Disbudporapar) to prepare it.

"The plan is that we want to add more at the Bambu Runcing monument, at the Sawunggaling Bridge but it is still in the process of further coordination to be placed there. Therefore, there must be an agreement first," he said.

It is known that until now the Surabaya City Government through DLH, Disbudporapar, and the Communication and Information Office (Diskominfo) have printed around 900 banners with the theme of the U-17 World Cup to be distributed in various points in the City of Heroes, including those that have been installed in the main streets of the City of Heroes, access roads to Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT), sub-district offices, sub-districts, health centers, to hospitals.
