Fabio Quartararo Has Forgotten The Failure At Portuguese MotoGP, Now Is Optimistic At Argentina Racing

JAKARTA - Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP racer, Fabio Quartararo, failed to shine in the inaugural series for the 2023 season. He was only able to finish 8th when racing at MotoGP Portimao, Portugal, Sunday, March 26.

However, Quartararo did not want to regret the failure too late. The French racer is ready to look at the next race, namely the Argentine MotoGP.

This time, Quartararo was more confident because he felt that his speed was not too bad when he was in Portugal.

"Yesterday in Portugal, I had problems with launch control and I chose the wrong path, so we were very behind. I don't think the speed itself is too bad," Quartararo said on the team's official website.

"I think the pace we had over the weekend was very fast. I hope to fight further in Argentina," he continued, as quoted via Antara, Tuesday, March 28.

The results in Portugal also gave Quartararo his first eight points, placing him in 10th place in the overall standings. Meanwhile, another Yamaha racer, Franco Morbidelli, sits in 17th place with 2 points.

After yesterday's round one, Team Monster Energy Yamaha is in eighth place in the team championship standings with 10 points, and Yamaha is in fifth place in the constructors' championship standings with eight points.

Team director Massimo Meregalli said they would soon be traveling directly to the Termas de Río Hondo track for the Argentina GP.

"We need to evaluate the data and make sure the drivers feel they can get more good things to support their next performance," said Meregalli.

"We flew directly to Argentina from Portugal, regrouped, and we were determined to find what was missing (from the motorbike) and fix it," he continued.
