Hot Weather Affects Vehicle Tires? This Is The Explanation

JAKARTA - Hot weather hit almost all regions of the country. According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), this was the aftermath of the phenomenon of El Nino and Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) in the dry season.

Regarding the summer, the public, especially users of two- and four-wheeled vehicles, are worried that it will have an impact on vehicle tires.

PG-On Vehicle Test (OVT) GT Radial Zulpata Zainal explained that the dry season that the drivers have complained about lately has no significant impact.

"For the current surface temperature of the heat, it is not too significant for tires," said Zupta Zainal when contacted by VOI.ID recently.

According to Zulpata, each vehicle manufacturer and tire have taken into account details, especially regarding road temperature recommendations when hot weather arrives.

"It may only affect tire noise, but it's also for a moment and when the surface temperature is normal it won't happen again," he added.

On this occasion, he suggested that tire pressure remain in an ideal condition, where the figure according to the Pound per Square Inch (PSI) is usually listed on the car door.

"Just make sure the tire pressure is as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer," he concluded.
