Tesla Reportedly Will Recall 54 Thousand Model X Units In The US Market Due To This Problem

JAKARTA - Bad news came from Tesla, it is reported that the manufacturer led by Elon Musk will recall or withdraw the Model X vehicle as many as 54,676 units.

This decision was taken after US automotive regulators expressed serious concerns regarding driver and passenger safety.

According to a Reuters report, Tuesday, October 17, the recall includes Model X vehicles produced between 2021 and 2023. The main cause of this recall lies in serious problems at the vehicle control center. One of the main problems is the failure to detect brake oil levels, as well as the absence of warning lights that function when a problem occurs.

The US automotive regulator warned that the failure could potentially cause a fatal accident. In the worst case, the failure to detect brake oil could result in serious injury or even death. No wonder this recall decision was taken immediately, as a crucial precaution for the safety of road users.

However, Tesla has shown its response to this situation. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) confirmed that Tesla has launched a software update through the over-the-air (OTA) system to fix the problem. This step is given free of charge to the affected owners of the Model X.

Not only that, the problem is not the first time Tesla has faced in recent months. Prior to this Model X mass recall, NHTSA had previously opened an investigation into 280,000 new Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles over power steering issues in August.
