JAKARTA - Nissan Indonesia took firm steps by carrying out the recall process against two vehicle models sold in Indonesia, namely the Nissan Leaf and Kicks e-POWER, to overcome two different problems.

The Japanese manufacturer revealed that the hybrid SUV encountered problems in the Blow by Hose and Vehicle Control sections. Meanwhile, the Nissan Leaf needs to be checked in the Vehicle Control Module (VCM) section, as informed through Nissan Indonesia's official post on Instagram on Tuesday, September 5.

"It only takes 45 minutes to carry out an Examination or Substitution of the Blow By (Hose), as well as a GRATIS Vehicle Control Module (VCM) examination or reprogramming at Nissan's official workshop," wrote Nissan Indonesia in its official Instagram upload.

Nissan Leaf owners are advised to immediately take their electric vehicle to Nissan's official workshop for inspection or, if necessary, re-program for free in the VCM section. Nissan explained that the reprogramming process was carried out to improve the quality and performance of vehicle acceleration.

Although it was not disclosed how many vehicles were affected, Nissan Indonesia carried out this step as a form of prevention in order to maintain the safety of customers who owned the vehicle.

For Nissan Kicks e-POWER, the affected models are those produced between November 3, 2020 and January 7, 2021. As for the Nissan Leaf, the affected vehicles are those produced between November 6, 2019 and December 6, 2022.

Affected vehicle owners can check the status of their vehicles through Umbinan.co.id/owners/recall or contact Nissan Care Online Assistant via 1500023 for more information.

This is the second time Nissan Indonesia has carried out a recall process after what was previously carried out in May. At that time, the affected vehicles included the models Sentra (April 2002 - September 2022), X-Trail (2002 - 2008), Livina / GL / X-Gear (April 2007 - November 2013), Latio (November 2004 - October 2006), Navara (January 2007 - December 2014), Frontier (2009 - 2010), and Livina / GL (May 2013 - October 2017). Recall was carried out to replace the airbag component in order to prevent unwanted events that could result in injuries to the driver.
