DPR's Meeting Agrees With Awards For Council Members At The End Of The Period To Become DPR Regulations

JAKARTA - The DPR RI Plenary Meeting (Rapur) approved the awarding of awards to DPR members at the end of their term of office as DPR Regulations.

"Can the draft DPR RI regulation regarding awarding members of the DPR RI at the end of the membership period be approved to be stipulated as Regulations of the DPR RI?" asked Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Lodewijk F. Paulus as chair of the meeting at the 7th DPR RI Meeting of Session Period I of the 2024-2045 Session Year at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday 19 September, confiscated by Antara.

Lodewijk's question was immediately answered agreeing by the members of the council who were present.

"Furthermore, the DPR RI regulation will be followed up in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations," said Lodewijk.

At the beginning of the Rapur, Deputy Chairman of the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Achmad Baidowi, said that the preparation of the Draft DPR RI Regulation was intended in order to honor and appreciate the loyalty and dedication as representatives of the people in fighting for the aspirations of the people for the benefit of the nation and state.

He then described a number of content materials in the Draft DPR RI Regulation on Awarding Members of the DPR RI at the End of the Membership Period.

First, the award sign consists of a charter and a PIN given to all members of the DPR who complete or do not complete their membership period.

"Except, the person concerned died or was dismissed for violating the oath or promise of office and code of ethics of the DPR, or was found guilty based on a court decision that has obtained permanent legal force for committing a criminal act," he said.

Second, the awarding is carried out by handing over certificates of appreciation and embedding PIN awards by the leadership of the DPR symbolically to members representing the factions, and followed by all members whose implementation is carried out by the Secretariat General of the DPR RI.

Third, in addition to members, certificates of appreciation can also be given to support system staff who are State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Secretariat General of the DPR RI, and experts in the DPR's equipment, as well as faction experts.

"Four, a sign of appreciation for this DPR Regulation is given starting from the 2019-2024 DPR membership period," he said.

He said that the Draft DPR RI Regulation on Awarding Members of the DPR RI at the End of the 2019-2024 Membership Period had also been discussed intensively by Baleg DPR RI in a plenary meeting on September 17 and a committee meeting on September 18.

"In the Baleg plenary meeting as well as read out mini views and approval from all of the DPR RI Draft Regulations," he said.
