Fadli Zon Kutuk Attack On Indonesian Hospital In Gaza, Israel Injures And Declares War On Indonesian People

JAKARTA - Indonesian hospitals in the Jabaliya region, the Gaza Strip, since Monday (20/11) have been the target of blind attacks by Israeli troops (IDF). There are 6,000 people including staff and doctors up to 700 patients sheltering in them. Fadli Zon strongly condemns this barbaric act.

According to Fadli Zon, who is also the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives' Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP), has gone too far. "It makes no sense that the actions of Israeli soldiers attack Indonesian hospitals, beyond the imagination of barbarity, cannot be justified from any side. It is a barbaric attack in addition to very naked violating international humanitarian law and also the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention," he said in a written statement received by VOI Wednesday, November 22.

Fadli Zon also fully supports the efforts of Foreign Minister Retno, who is continuing to try to get the latest developments at the Gaza Hospital, including the fate of three Indonesian citizens there.

According to him, the steps taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs mainly ensure the safety of those in the hospital. I urge the UN Security Council to immediately intervene so that the massacre by Israel at Gaza's al-Shifa Hospital does not repeat itself.

On the other hand, Fadli Zon who is also Vice President of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds, a global parliamentary network for Istanbul-based Palestine, stressed that Israel's attacks on Palestine further emphasized the urgency of bringing Israel to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Israel's attack on the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza further asserts Israel as a war criminal and a perpetrator of genocide. The proposal for Indonesia to file an Israeli complaint with the ICC must be considered.

Israel's attack on Indonesian hospitals in Gaza deeply hurts the Indonesian people. It must be remembered that the total funds for the construction of the hospital reached 126 billion rupiahs. It all came from the contribution of the Indonesian people. The attack was offensive and also meant declaring war against the Indonesian people.

To date, 12 people have died as a result of the brutal Israeli act, including patients, and dozens of injuries.

Fadli Zon welcomed the plan to agree on a ceasefire for 4 days. "This ceasefire is crucial to allow more humanitarian assistance to Gaza, as well as the evacuation of victims who need further treatment, including for efforts to release prisoners," he said.
