The Maluku Prosecutor's Office Has Not Planned To Detain The Regional Secretary Of The Tanimbar Islands For Corruption Suspects

The Maluku Attorney General's Office has not planned to detain the Regional Secretary of the Tanimbar Islands Regency, Maluku, with the initials RBM in the 2020 SPPD corruption case.

"For the time being, it seems that there is no plan from the investigative team to detain RBM who is also the Acting Regent of the KKT but is already a suspect because it is still in the stage of completing the examination of witnesses," said Head of Penkum and Public Relations of the Maluku Attorney General's Office, Wahyudi Kareba, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 20.

According to him, RBM and the former treasurer of expenditure at the KKT Regional Secretariat with the initials PM are considered to be responsible for cases of alleged corruption and misuse of state finances in the use of the official travel budget at the 2020 KKT Regional Secretariat worth Rp. 1 billion.

RBM was named by the prosecutor as a suspect based on the Letter of Determination of Suspect Number: B-1615/Q.1.13/Fd.2/10/2023 by the Tanimbar Islands Kejari.

Meanwhile, the former treasurer of the KKT Regional Secretariat expenditure with the initials PM was named a suspect based on the Suspect Determination Letter Number: B-1616/Q.1.13/Fd.2/10/2023.

Pascapenetapan PM as a suspect, the investigating prosecutor at the KKT Kejari has detained the person concerned, while RBM has not yet been detained by the prosecutor.

Investigators already have a number of strong preliminary evidence to determine RBM and PM as suspects, where RBM is made a suspect in its capacity as Secretary of the KKT in 2020.

Based on the audit report on the calculation of state financial losses by the Maluku Prosecutor's Auditor team, it was found that state losses amounted to Rp1.09 billion in this case.
