Bawaslu Checks Allegations Of Acting Regent Of Sorong YPM Netted OTT KPK Supports Candidates For The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) is checking allegations that the Acting Regent of Sorong Yan Piet Mosso (YPM) violated neutrality in supporting candidate pairs (paslon) for presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election.

"Bawaslu is still checking whether the findings are true or not. We are coordinating with Bawaslu Sorong, Papua. We are waiting for the report from Bawaslu Sorong," said Bawaslu Chairman Rahmat Bagja after a meeting with Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko at Bina Graha Building, Jakarta, Monday, November 20, confiscated by Antara.

Bagja said that the acting regional head is part of the state civil apparatus (ASN) so that it is bound by the rules of the ASN Law.

"ASN must be neutral. ASN must not show, facilitate certain activities or certain programs for certain election participants, both detrimental and profitable," he said.

He revealed that until now there have been two reports related to the pj. regional head, namely Acting Regent of Sorong and acting regent in the West Nusa Tenggara region.

"One has been forwarded to KASN, 3 weeks or a month ago, it happened a long time ago, pj. in Lombok, if I'm not mistaken, the regent in the NTB area," said Bagja.

Bagja said that basically Bawaslu is tasked with conveying whether there are violations during the campaign period. Currently, it has not entered the campaign period.

"The execution is in the State Civil Apparatus Commission and the Minister of RB as well as the State Civil Service Agency. We only state that this is an alleged violation, the case is like this, please follow up," he said.

Acting Regent of Sorong Yan Piet Mosso or YPM is currently facing legal proceedings after being caught by the KPK OTT in Sorong, Southwest Papua in the early hours of Sunday, November 12.

Yan Piet Mosso was arrested by the KPK along with four other people, namely the Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) of Sorong Regency Efer Segidifat (ES), the BPKAD staff of Sorong Regency Maniel Syatfle (MS), the Head of Subaud BPK of Southwest Papua Province Abu Hanifa (AH), and the Head of the Audit Team David Patasaung (DP).

The KPK OTT is related to the alleged gratification of the termination of the findings of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) examination in Sorong Regency.

The five of them together with the BPK Representative of Southwest Papua Province Patrice Lumumba Sihombing (PLS) have been named as suspects in this case.
