Sukabumi City Satpol PP And Firefighters Confiscate Tens Of Thousands Of APKs In Prohibited Zones

JAKARTA - The Sukabumi City Civil Service Police Unit and Fire Department (Satpol PP and Fire Department) have confiscated tens of thousands of campaign props (APK). The APK was also installed in prohibited zones in the Sukabumi City area, West Java.

"At least we confiscated 15 thousand APKs ranging from billboards, banners, posters and others," said Head of the Satpol PP and Damkar Service, Ayi Jamiliat quoting Antara.

According to Ayi, the control of the APK which is located in several protocol roads and ring one government office to enforce the General Election Commission (PKPU) Regulation Number 15 of 2023 related to the election campaign.

This control was initiated and is a directive from the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of Sukabumi City. Every APB installed in the prohibited zones, his party immediately regulates and confiscates it.

In carrying out this control, his party ensures that they will not be selective and the APK belongs to candidates for legislative members (caleg) or any political party if the installation violates the provisions, it is immediately brought under control.

However, it must be admitted that this control takes quite a long time because the APK is spread to various corners of Sukabumi City, so it takes a lot of time and personnel.

"The control that we are doing is only on protocol and strategic roads, not to community villages. We will also coordinate with a number of parties to participate in controlling the APK," he said.

Ayi appealed to the legislative candidates, political party administrators, sympathizers and the successful/winner team to comply with the APB installation rules, because apart from violating the existence of the APB which was installed carelessly, it made the city look shabby. In addition, the APK would be nice not to be installed in trees, let alone to the point of silence.
