During the arrest, the perpetrator tried to run away and even fought back. As a result, the officers were forced to fire warning shots that hit Kaharman's two legs.

Iptu Adi Asrul explained the chronology of the incident. A tragic event began when Kaharman came to the victim's grocery store to pay off debts. The conversation between the two turned into an argument when the victim called Kaharman a liar.

Without being able to contain anger, Kaharman immediately took a machete from his waist and chased the victim into the house.

"The suspect did not accept it, took out a machete tucked into his left waist, so the victim immediately ran into his house and was chased by the suspect while slashing his machete into the victim's left hand once which penetrated the left waist. The victim ran into the kitchen of his house and then the suspect slashed the victim's left cheek so that it lay on the floor," explained Iptu Adi Asrul.

After carrying out the murder, Kaharman took the victim's gold jewelry before escaping from the location. The perpetrator was also caught by the victim's child who fled after seeing Kaharman holding a machete.

"The victim's child entered the house and saw the suspect holding a machete so that the suspect immediately pointed the victim's child using his left hand holding a machete while saying'maga iko shop?' so the victim's child immediately fled," he added.
