South OKU BPBD Deploys Dozens Of Personnel To The Topan Wind Disaster Site In Tanjung Wins

OKU - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel), deployed personnel to the hurricane disaster site that hit residential areas in Tanjung Win Village, Buay Pemca District. "We have deployed dozens of personnel to the location of natural disasters," said Head of the Emergency and Logistics Section of the South OKU Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Heri in Muaradua, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, November 15. He said heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that occurred Wednesday afternoon at around 14.30 WIB destroyed residents' houses to the ground level. "Although there were no casualties, two houses in Tanjung Win Village were affected by strong winds, one of which collapsed to the ground," he said. Related to this, his party deployed dozens of personnel to help residents clean up house materials destroyed by strong winds. "Our personnel are still at the location to carry out the rescue, as well as help residents clean up the rubble of the house," he said. The South OKU BPBD also established a response post at the natural disaster site to anticipate further disasters so as not to cause casualties. "We also urge the public to increase their vigilance to deal with further disasters," he said. Meanwhile, the Head of Tanjung Win Village, South OKU, Kailani, said that as a result of the natural disaster, the house on stilts made of wood belonging to a resident named Fahroni suffered very severe damage and collapsed and could no longer be occupied. Victim Fahroni also suffered lacerations to the palms of his left hand and another resident suffered a broken left leg and was forced to receive intensive care at a local hospital.

"Currently, the victim is forced to flee to his family's house because his house cannot be occupied anymore," he said.
