West Java Acting Governor: Controlling Campaign Banners Depending On Bawaslu

BANDUNG - Acting Governor of West Java Bey▁Keputusanhi Machmudin said controlling banners smelled of campaigns, depending on the decision of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu).

"That's up to Bawaslu, the decision at Bawaslu is not with us, the local government is only the executor," said Bey at the Sate building in Bandung, reported by ANTRA, Tuesday, November 14.

Bey said the provincial and district/city level Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) in West Java must coordinate with Bawaslu in carrying out this control considering that currently it has not entered the campaign period.

Do not let, said Bey, Satpol PP control tools related to campaigns, but not cooperate or even be unknown to Bawaslu.

"Later, we will ask the Satpol PP to cooperate with Bawaslu. Because the decision from Bawaslu, only the one who carried out the action was the Satpol PP. Bawaslu must know first so that they don't know, then Satpol PP will act to clean up," he said.

Meanwhile, West Java Bawaslu Chairman Zacky M Zam-Zam said that before entering the campaign period, the 2024 election participants were not allowed to promote himself or his party.

However, Zacky said that socialization props (APS) were still allowed to be installed before the campaign began.

"So as long as there is no promotion of himself, his party, or an invitation to choose such a collos image, or a concrete image, it does not violate," he said.
