Elderly Suspect In Rape Case In Tebet, A Scavenger, Has Been In Action 10 Times Since 2022

JAKARTA Firman Widodo (81) an elderly man (elderly) suspected of raping a 16-year-old girl in Manggarai, Tebet, South Jakarta, is known to have raped KZ (16) 10 times. In more detail, Firman has committed 10 acts of rape since 2022 until now.

"The victim himself explained that during the examination, he had been molested or had been sexually assaulted by the suspect more than 10 times," said Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation at the South Jakarta Police, Kompol Hendrikus Yossi Hendrata, to reporters at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Monday, November 13.

Yossi explained, at first the victim often played at Firman's house because the two houses were close to each other.

The elderly who work as scavengers of used goods finally persuaded the victim by giving Rp. 20,000 so that they could hold her breasts.

"Menbujuk the child untuk melakukan tindakan asusila berupa pencabulan maupun percepatan terhadap si korban dengan cara memberikan sejumlah uang. Nominal bervari sekitar Rp20 ribu hingga Rp50 ribu," katanya.

"The victim also felt interested because he was given money. And did not expect it to be used to commit depraved acts by the suspect," he continued.

The incident was revealed because the victim told a story with his younger brother. However, the story was conveyed to the victim's parents.

"After getting the information, the mother then confirmed the truth to the victim. Well, that's when the victim then told her parents in detail about the events she had experienced," he said.

The victim's family reported Firman to the South Jakarta Metro Police. The police who received information moved quickly until they finally arrested the perpetrator.

"Armed under Article 76D concerning sexual intercourse with children and 76E concerning sexual abuse against children of Law number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison," he concluded.
