Asked Not To Make A Cawapres Child, Surya Paloh: I'll See First, Is It Suitable?

Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, revealed the reason for not encouraging his son, Prananda Paloh, to become a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

As a parent, Paloh said, he would first see whether his son was worthy of being vice president or not. This was said by Surya Paloh when answering questions from the East Java public about why he did not make his son a vice presidential candidate in the moment of the 12th Anniversary of the NasDem Party in NasDem Tower, Saturday, November 11.

"This is a scary question, this should not be a question for me, but for all of us," said Surya Paloh, starting the answer.

"Well, I think the first one, I'll try to take a peek at my son first, I'll see carefully, whether this is suitable for the vice presidential candidate," he continued.

Second, continued Surya Paloh, of course he will think in his heart, whether it is appropriate or not Prananda to become a vice presidential candidate.

"Even though I have the opportunity to nominate him, I think it's appropriate or not?" he said.

Third, Surya Paloh hopes that there is one process that his son must do in order to become a much more mature person.

Prananda, said Surya Paloh, had to experience a wake-up process that made him strong, like an eagle cub that could fly high.

"People said that if he could, he would have to mature a tree, not the result of planting. So I hope for this," said Surya Paloh.

"So maybe if my son dares to ask me, I will say 'wait a minute, the time will come', that's if I still have a long life," said Paloh.
