North Sumatra Police And Customs And Excise Unload Illegal Clothing Smuggling

The North Sumatra Police together with a joint team of North Sumatra Customs and Excise uncovered the smuggling of illegal used clothes from Malaysia, through waters in Sicanang, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra.

In the disclosure of the used clothes, Sunday (5/11) in the early hours of the morning, officers confiscated three trucks carrying illegal marks.

"Disclosure of the illegal used clothing was carried out in collaboration with the North Sumatra Regional Police in enforcing customs law for used smuggling," said Head of the North Sumatra DJBC Regional Office, Parjiya, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 8.

Parjiya said that two disclosure locations were carried out, namely the first at an oil palm plantation in the Stabat area, Langkat Regency, two trucks were confiscated with the driver.

"Then, the second is at the location of KM 21, on the Medan-Stabat Toll Road, a truck carrying several used clothing balls was confiscated," said Parjiya, accompanied by the Director of Criminal Investigation at the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol Teddy Marbun.

The Head of the Regional Office explained that the smuggling of used clothes was carried by ship through the waters of Sicanang, Langkat Regency.

However, when the officers checked the ship, it was empty, left by the crew.

"The case of smuggling used clothes is still under development. Meanwhile, two drivers carrying used clothes are still under investigation," said Parjiya.
