Firli Bahuri Absent From Investigation, Polda Metro Jaya Will Release Developments In Handling SYL Cases

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri is absent from the investigation scheduled for Tuesday, November 7.

Polda Metro Jaya responded by stating that there would be a new 'update' regarding the handling of the alleged extortion case by the KPK leadership against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL.

"Later on, we will wait for the next update this week," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, to reporters, Wednesday, November 8.

However, the context of the 'update' was not clearly conveyed. Including, about the possibility of rescheduling the examination of Firli Bahuri.

Ade only continues to emphasize if his party will convey the progress of handling the case.

"There will be an update this week. We'll let you know later," said Ade.

Firli Bahuri is absent from the investigation scheduled by the Polda Metro Jaya. The KPK argued that its leadership was having official activities.

"There are activities in Aceh in the context of the KPK Bus Roadshow and also Hakordia in Aceh," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri.

Ali confirmed that the anti-corruption commission had sent a letter to the Polda Metro Jaya. Because Firli could not be present considering that he was out of town.

"Has sent a letter to confirm that, his absence," said Ali.

Meanwhile, in investigating the alleged extortion case against SYL, investigators have examined 72 witnesses and experts.

Experts who have been questioned are three criminal experts, one micro expression, and one procedural law expert.

Of the dozens of witnesses whose statements have been recorded in the examination report (BAP), 11 of them are KPK employees.
