Calls The G-20 Countries Implement Double Standards To Palestine, Fadli Zon: Real Hypocrity

JAKARTA - Chairman of the House of Representatives' Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) Fadli Zon assesses that G-20 countries are implementing double standards in responding to the Palestinian and Israeli conflicts.

This assessment was also disclosed by Fadli, who is a member of the World Parliament Oranization in the state parliament forum of the G-20 Summit.

"I recently spoke in front of the forums of G-20 countries, in front of parliamentary chairmen of G-20 countries. In front of the world parliament, what they are currently showing is a double standard and a defamation," Fadli said in a Palestinian defense action at the National Monument (Monas), Jakarta, Sunday, November 5.

Fadli compared the double standards seen in a number of G-20 member countries. When the conflict between Russia and Ukraine broke out, the G-20 said Ukraine was defending its homeland. However, they think differently of Palestine.

"What happened in Palestine, they were silent and they said it was a terrorist. This is a real highlight," said Fadli.

Furthermore, Fadli emphasized that the Israeli attack on Palestinians in Gaza was a crime against humanity. Therefore, Indonesia firmly supports Palestine for independence.

"This is a war crime and must be stopped. Otherwise, there will be more victims. So we conclude that this is genocide," he said.

In this mass action, ministers, state officials, political elites, and Indonesian celebrities also spilled over at Monas defending Palestine from Israel's indiscriminate aggression.

Those who took part in the Palestinian defense action at Monas included Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Deputy Chairperson of the MPR Jazilul Fawaid, Grand Imam of the Istiqlal Mosque Nasaruddin Umar, to former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan.

Meanwhile, celebrities who attended included Aaliyah Massaid, Hanung Bramantyo, Atta Halilintar, Syifa Hadju, Mulan Jameela, Abidzar Al-Ghifari, Al Ghazali to Dinda Hauw.
