3 Trees Fall During Rain In Tangerang, Overtake Electric Poles To Road Hall

JAKARTA - Rain accompanied by strong winds that hit a number of points in Tangerang Regency caused three trees to fall.

"When it rained with strong winds on Saturday, November 4, 2023, evening until evening, the BPBD team evacuated three fallen trees in the [District] Solear area," said Head of BPBD Tangerang Regency Ujat Sudrajat, in Tangerang, Sunday.

He said, in the process of evacuating fallen trees with a diameter of 60 to 70 centimeters (cm), as many as dozens of BPBD officers were deployed.

Some trees, he continued, had blocked the road and hit vehicles and electric poles, so that motorized vehicles at that location could not pass.

He said, for the first evacuation carried out by officers in Taman Adiyasa, Block D27, RT/RW 001/007, Cikasungka Village with fallen trees hit three city transportation cars (angkot).

"The evacuation of the first location was carried out at 18.00 WIB, with the tree falling and hitting three angkot cars. The loss is estimated at around Rp. 10 million more," he said.

Then, at the second location, officers evacuated the fallen tree with a diameter of about 60 cm, which was carried out at Taman Adiyasa Blok F, RT/RW 008/007, Cikasungka Village which took place quickly and was declared complete at 20.10 WIB.

"For the second location, the process occurred at 20.05 WIB, the tree collapsed and hit the power cable, so the cable was cut off and caused the lights to turn off," he said.

Furthermore, the handling of fallen trees due to rain accompanied by strong winds was carried out at Perum Bukit Cikasungka, RT/RW 003/009, Cikasungka Village which occurred at 22.11 WIB.

The third fallen tree requires a long evacuation process, because the diameter of the tree that hit the power cable is quite large, about 70 cm.

"For this third tree, we will finish handling it at around 22.21 WIB," he said.

He added that due to the incident of the fallen tree, there were no casualties or injuries, only material losses.
