Bekasi Prosecutor's Office Ensures Bribery Case For DPRD Leaders Continues

BEKASI - The Bekasi District Attorney's Office, West Java, has ensured that the handling of corruption cases of granting gratuities or bribes to unscrupulous leaders of the local DPRD will continue despite the change of head in the institution.

"It is certain that the case will continue, it has been arrested (giver of bribes)," said Head of the Bekasi District Attorney's Office, Dwi Astuti Beniyati, after welcoming the head of the prosecutor's office, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 1.

He said that apart from the direct duties of the President, the prosecutor's office has the main duties in the field of prosecution, including cases of corruption and other general crimes.

"Later on other tasks in state administration that we must solve one by one, but still the main tasks that we prioritize," he said.

He admitted that he was aware of the investigation into the alleged corruption case of giving bribes to the Deputy Chairperson of the Bekasi Regency DPRD even though he had just officially entered this area.

"Because I just entered but I will determine my attitude, later I will study it first, then in the future immediately," he said.

Dwi Astuti ensured that the completion of the gratification case for the DPRD leadership would involve all prosecutors' resources through the collaboration of all fields so that it would be completed immediately.

"Each field cannot move on its own, but we are united to work together. Including the bribery case of the DPRD leadership, I have mobilized the prosecutor so that it can be completed as soon as possible," he said.

The Bekasi District Attorney's Office on Tuesday (31/10/2023) has named a businessman with the initials RS as a suspect in a corruption case suspected of giving bribes or gratuities to the Deputy Chairman of the DPRD from the PDI-P.

The determination of the suspect is based on the results of the examination and exposure of investigators from their original status as witnesses. The hospital was detained at the Class IIA Cikarang Prison for the next 20 days with an additional 40 days of detention to complete the investigation file and the indictment plan.

Penyidikan perkara ini melibatkan 20 saksi dan dua ahli terdiri atas ahli pidana dan ahli dari Peruri. Sebanyak 184 alat bukti mulai dari dokumen surat serta sejumlah keterangan juga telah berhasil dikumpulkan.
