As Long As It Is In Accordance With The Rules, The KPK Respects The Search At Firli Bahuri's House

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has finally spoken about the search at the house of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri. The KPK ensures that it respects the forced efforts made by the Polda Metro Jaya investigators.

It is known that there were two Firli's houses that were searched by investigators, namely those on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta and Bekasi, West Java. The search was carried out to find evidence of alleged extortion by the KPK leadership against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

"The KPK certainly respects this activity as part of a series of legal processes and that as long as it is in accordance with applicable mechanisms and regulations," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in a written statement, Thursday, October 26.

Ali ensured that his party would cooperate. He said, one of the proofs was that Firli's presence fulfilled the investigator's summons on Tuesday, October 24.

"Mr. Firli Bahuri has also been cooperatively present and provided the information needed by Polda Metro Jaya and Polri Headquarters investigators," he said.

"Similarly, several other KPK personnel who also cooperatively fulfill the investigator's summons for questioning and investigation," Ali continued.

Not only that, the KPK has also submitted the documents requested by Polda Metro investigators. However, Ali did not speak when asked about the handover.

"As well as the KPK some time ago, it has submitted the documents requested by Polda Metro Jaya investigators," he said.

The search at Firli's house is still ongoing. Finally, investigators brought three suitcases whose contents had not been explained.

As previously reported, Polda Metro Jaya has examined 54 witnesses in the alleged extortion by the KPK leadership. They include private driver SYL, SYL's personal aide, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK for the 2007-2011 period Mochammad Jasin.

Then the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK for the 2015-2019 period Saut Situmorang, Director of Public Complaints and Complaints (Dumas) of the KPK Tomi Murtomo, Aide de Camp (ADC) or aide to the Chairman of the KPK Kevin Egananta, and Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar who is also SYL's nephew's husband.

Meanwhile, Firli has been questioned regarding the alleged extortion by the KPK leadership as a witness on Tuesday, October 24 yesterday. There was no statement from him when he entered or after being questioned at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police even though the media crew had been waiting for him since morning.
