PT Timah IUP Corruption Case, AGO Searches 3 Locations

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General's Office conducted searches and confiscations in three locations related to cases of alleged corruption in tin commodity trading in the mining permit area (IUP) of PT Timah Tbk for the 2015 to 2023 period.

"The investigative team conducted a series of searches and confiscations in three locations," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 17.

The three locations are residential houses located at Toboali-Sadai Street, Toboali District, South Bangka Regency.

The second location is also a residential house on Puput Sadai Street, Keposong Village, Toboali District, South Bangka Regency, and one right on Soedirman Toboali Street, Toboali District, South Bangka Regency.

"From the three locations, the investigative team obtained at the same time confiscated several documents and electronic evidence related to criminal events," he said.

The former Deputy Head of the Bali High Prosecutor's Office said the position of the case in this case was related to the cooperation in PT Timah Tbk's land management with the private sector illegally.

"The results of the management are resold to PT Timah Tbk so that it has the potential to cause state losses," he said.

Ketut added that the search was carried out after investigators raised the status of the case from the investigation to the general investigation stage.

In this general investigation, the investigative team found an unlawful act, while the suspect had not been determined and the value of the loss was also being investigated.

"This is a new case, and has just gone up from investigation to public investigation," he said.
