Kaesang Is More Happy When Gibran Joins PSI

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep admitted that he was happier if the Mayor of Surakarta, as well as his older brother, Gibran Rakabuming Raka joined PSI.

"Yes, that is again Mas Mayor's personal choice (Gibran). If we are here, yes, as PSI, it is more common if (Gibran) enters PSI; but if it enters there (Golkar Party), yes, there is no problem," said Kaesang as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 17.

Responding to Gibranakan's discourse on moving to the Golkar Party, Kaesang admitted that he had just heard of the issue. Kaesang said he had been busy filming for one day, so he didn't know the news.

The news that Gibrakan joined the banyan tree party emerged after the Constitutional Court (MK) decided the judicial review case of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections regarding the requirements for presidential and presidential candidates to be at least 40 years old or experienced as regional heads.

Regarding the news, the chairman of the Golkar Party Expert Council, Agung Laksono, stated that his party was ready to welcome President Joko Widodo's eldest son to join the Golkar Party.

"In principle, we are welcome. We will welcome Gibran if he wants to join," said Agung Laksono.

According to Agung, the presence of Gibran in the Golkar Party shows that the Golkar Party is one of the options for young people.

The Golkar Party is open to all groups, including young people, especially since Golkar has an institutional history that is honorable and consistent in building progressive works.

The Golkar Party is currently part of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) which carries Prabowo Subianto as the presidential candidate for the 2024 presidential election.
