Head of the Data and Information Center (Pusdatin) of the DKI Jakarta Highways Agency, Wiwik Wahyuni, explained about the budget allocation for the bridge construction of around Rp144 billion-Rp145 billion which was questioned by the DPRD.

Wiwik said that the DKI Provincial Government has a regional development plan (RPD) for 2023-2026 which must be carried out during the current year. One of them is the construction of the bridge.

"The annual target conveyed is the sub-activity for the construction of the bridge that must be achieved by the Bina Marga Office based on the 2023-2026 RPD," Wiwik told reporters, Tuesday, October 17.

Wiwik emphasized that the Rp144 budget proposed in the 2024 APBD draft was not only intended to build 3 bridges, as disclosed by the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, but also 7 bridge constructions.

In detail, the 3 bridges above the river were built at a cost of around Rp. 85 billion and a pedestrian bridge (JPO) with a budget of Rp. 89 billion.

It is planned that some bridges will be built in 2024 and partly in 2025.

"For the construction of the bridge, there are several plans, including the Widya Chandra Bridge, the Align Align Irrigation Bridge (East Flood Canal) and the Cipinang Besar Bridge, but the construction of the Cipinang Besar Bridge will be proposed in 2025 so that for 2024, planning is needed," he explained.

Previously, Secretary of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Justin Adrian Untayana revealed that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government proposed an allocation of the budget for the construction of three bridges with a value of Rp. 145 billion.

Justin assessed that the amount of the budget proposed by the DKI Jakarta Bina Marga Office to hundreds of billions of rupiah seemed odd and too large. Given, the construction of this one pedestrian bridge is calculated to cost Rp50 billion.

"I highlight this, and it becomes a burden of the mind because it feels unreasonable, for the construction of 3 pedestrian bridges with a budget of Rp. 145 billion. Obviously I don't dare to agree," Justin said in his statement, Thursday, October 12.

According to Justin, the construction value of the three JPOs is very large compared to the bridge constructions that have been built in the mining industry.

"I happen to recently facilitate mining companies in contact with contractors to build a 70 meter long bridge, a 6 meter wide load can be passed by coal trucks with a capacity of 40 tons/truck, the bridge only costs Rp. 25 billion," he explained.
