KemenPPPA Asks Police To Snare Families Of Abusing 7-Year-Old Boys In Malang Using Articles Of Serious Persecution

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) has asked law enforcement to use the weighting article against perpetrators who have abused a 7-year-old child in Malang City, East Java (East Java).

"Investigators can use the weighting article for perpetrators who should be responsible parties to fulfill children's rights and protect victims," said Deputy for Child Protection at the Ministry of PPPA Nahar in Jakarta, Monday, October 16, confiscated by Antara.

Nahar said the perpetrators were threatened with criminal sanctions in accordance with Article 80 paragraphs (1), (2), and (4) of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with Article 44 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence with a maximum sentence of 10 years, and can be added by a third for parents as perpetrators.

His party strongly condemned the acts of physical violence perpetrated by the perpetrators against the victims.

"We will continue to monitor the legal process so that it is in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations," said Nahar.

In addition, intensive psychological assistance is needed for victims so that they can follow the legal process optimally and provide rehabilitation or psychological intervention for the function of recovery from the traumatic impacts caused by the events experienced.

The victim is currently being treated at a local hospital.

"The child is still being treated at Dr Saiful Anwar Hospital, Malang. The East Java Provincial UPTD and Malang City are accompanying this case," said Nahar.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator, who is the biological father, stepmother, stepmother, half-brother, and uncle of the victim, has now been arrested by the police.
