JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin directed all stakeholders in the national sharia ecosystem to respond to the provision of various Islamic financial products in digital form. "Economic disruption demands the availability of various Islamic financial products according to the needs of the community who are increasingly familiar with the digital world," said Ma'ruf when delivering directions on the agenda of Ijtima Sanawi, XIX/2023 Sharia Supervisory Board, followed by the Setwapres YouTube network in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, October 13. This condition, said Ma'ruf, must be responded to by regulators, industry players, the National Sharia Council (DSN) of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), and also the Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS). According to Ma'ruf, MUI already has a methodology device for implementing fatwas (manhajul ifta’) to face these challenges. "In the field of Islamic economics and finance, the manhaj used is; Al-Akhdzu bil-Ashah Wa Mura ’atu al-Khilaf, meaning to take the most benefit and maintain the mistake," he said. Meanwhile, in its implementation, said Ma'ruf, many apply rules separating halal from haram (tafriq al-halal ‘an al-haram). "If the capital is haram, the proceeds are haram. If the capital is from the halal, the results are halal," he said. With that manhaj and rules, said Ma'ruf, MUI DSN should be able to provide answers and provide solutions to problems that arise in the era of economic disruption. Ma'ruf assessed that the recent MUI DSN fatwa has responded a lot to the needs of the digital economy and finance, so that it can be used as a guideline by players in the national sharia industry. "People can also use economic and financial products safely, comfortably, and according to sharia principles," he said. The agenda of Ijtima Sanawi (Annual Meeting) of the Sharia Supervisory Board XIX/2023 which was held in Jakarta, carries the theme "Improving the Collaboration of Sharia Economics and Finance Development in the Era of Economic Disruption".

Also attended on the agenda were the management of the OJK Board of Commissioners, the Chairperson of the MUI, the Daily Executive Board of the DSN MUI and members of the Sharia Supervisory Board.
