The Fire Of The Slope Of Mount Ungaran, Central Java, Has Been Extinguished

The police confirmed that the fire on the slopes of Mount Ungaran, Semarang Regency, had been extinguished today, Friday, October 13.

Joint police personnel together with the local Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and residents around Bandungan District, Semarang Regency, searched a number of locations at the hotspots that sparked the fire since Thursday, October 12 that evening.

Bandungan Police Chief Iptu Jarot Dri Handoko said officers were walking along a footpath in Candi Village to the location of the hotspot.

He said the hotspots were in an area with a slope contour.

The sweeping was carried out by two groups to the West and East with a radius of about one to two kilometers.

"Officers deployed carry portable water tanks whose aim is to extinguish the fire if small hotspots are found," he said.

The results of the officer's sweeping, he said, it was confirmed that there were no hotspots or puffs of fire smoke.

Meanwhile, the Semarang Police Chief AKBP Achmad Oka Mahendra said the location of the fire was not a hiking trail to Mount Ungaran.

He also ensured that the fire was triggered by extreme weather that burned grass and dry trees.
