Sahroni Regarding SYL's Donation Money To NasDem: Where Does It Know Is Money From?

General Treasurer of NasDem Ahmad Sahroni agrees that former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo, who is now a suspect in alleged corruption, has made a disaster donation. This gift was submitted to the NasDem Party faction.

"Ke Fraksi NasDem untuk bantuan bencana alam itu benar nilai Rp20 juta," Kata Sahroni kepada wartawan saat dikonfirmasi, Kamis, 12 Oktober.

Sahroni explained that the NasDem Party faction often collects donations to help disaster survivors. However, they do not know about the origin of the money given by Syahrul

"We don't know where the money came from. We members of the DPR RI all provide natural disaster assistance wherever they are (as a contribution, ed) to the affected people," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK said it would reveal the amount of donations Syahrul made to his party. "In time, it will definitely be opened how many findings the initial flow of money will be," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, October 12.

The KPK has announced Syahrul and two of his subordinates, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and Director of Agricultural Equipment of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta as suspects on Wednesday, October 11. All three were involved in alleged extortion and gratuities.

In this case, Syahrul through his two subordinates was suspected of extorting his employees by requiring to pay the deposit every month. The nominal varies between 4,000-10,000 United States dollars.

It is believed that the money collected does not only come from the realization of the Ministry of Agriculture's budget inflated or mark-ups but from vendors working on projects. The money is given in cash, transfers or goods.
