Padang SAR, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) has deployed a team to search for two Bengkulu residents who have been swept away in the Kali Batang Anai River, Padangpariaman Regency since Tuesday (10/10) afternoon.

"Today we again disbursed the victim again by combing the location of the scene," said Head of Basarnas Padang Abdul Malik as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 11.

He said the search had started from Wednesday morning at around 07.00 WIB together with a joint SAR team from various agencies ranging from the police, Padangpariaman BPBD, PMI, and others.

Basarnas Padang conducted a search by dividing into two teams, where a team maneuvered around the scene using a rubber boat.

Meanwhile, other teams moved to conduct sweeps by following the flow of the river 2.5 kilometers from the scene.

However, until 18.00 WIB the search conducted by the team had not yielded results, so the search and rescue operation had to be temporarily suspended to resume tomorrow morning.

To note, there were four victims in the incident that occurred on Tuesday (10/10), all of whom were male and came from Bengkulu Province.

They were initially looking for a lizard in the local area, but when they were about to cross the Kuli Aia river in Batang Anai, they were swept away by the current.

Two victims on behalf of Krisyantori (35) and Aditia Yuda Pratama (19) have been found safe, while the other two Jayus Gustomi (26) and Strong (55) are still being searched.

Abdul Malik said the search and rescue efforts would be resumed with the joint SAR team on Thursday (12/10) morning.
